HP Desktop workstations being used in a rack?

Hi,
        I noticed HP has rack mounting kits for desktop workstations HP Z600, Z620, HP Z640, HP Z800, HP Z820, HP Z840, HP Z2, HP Z4, HP Z6, HP Z8 (example of one such kit below)


This looks pretty interesting, but I got to wondering what the ideal use case is compared to using 2U workstations?



Is this something that is used (rather than 2U workstation) when close proximity of the workstation to the thin client is necessary, but sound (and air conditioning) are an issue?
